Tostado Festival

Philippines is also famous for festivals showcasing the culture of the people. In relation to, this kind of activity will be celebrated in every corners of the country with own uniqueness and style. An example of a festival that I attended to was in Santander, located at the southernmost tip of the Cebu Province. Santander has its own famous delicacy called tostado or toasted cookies in which visitors from other places would crave for this kind of food. According to the folks, the fiesta is not complete without the so called tostado. Thus, Tostado Festival is launched as the main highlight and attraction among other festive activities in the locality. It is in a from of a dance participated by different barangays in town. The concept of the dance is unique because it will feature the steps on how to make the tostado.

Before the start of the contest proper, the participants are having a street dancing competition as well. This is the favorite scenario by the audience as they witness all the contingents in just one moment. What a delight to see all of them performing with their colorful costumes.

Who does not aim to be the champion? Well, everybody is trying to perform their best as you can see. I appreciate the efforts they have despite of being exposed in a hot temperature.

They did it with a happy smile amidst the fact that this festive activity was held on a summertime where the temperature is rising. Keep smiling!

What more I can say? Bring back the energy alive and give the best on the final.

The serious faces of the participants as they are focus on executing
another steps.

I love the way props are executed on this photo. Thus, a perfect shutter click for a good timing dance moves.

Uno, dos, tres!

From the choreography to the costume design, they hit the judges expectation. So, here comes the champion! Congratulations for winning the Tostado Festival 2010 competition.

A few shots during the contest proper. The venue was loaded with folks and visitors from the country itself and abroad.

Siquijor

The girls were having fun on the sand as they captured the moment showing a bond of friendship. The Island of Fire- Siquijor boasts its very fine white sand as it is clearly seen on this photo. Others would say that it is like Boracay for this reason. Indeed, a traveler will feel in love with this place.

On the pristine beach of Siquijor Island near the rocky edges. What will I say? I love this place because of its wide white sand enough to play beach volleyball and other outdoor games for fun.

Not contented with just a click on the shutter button. Pretty obvious, right?

Sibulan

This environment is a two thumbs up for nature lover. You could feel the calmness of the place as you will enjoy different kinds of activities throughout the day. Thus, we could feel the great importance to preserve our mother nature. So, pack your things and visit the twin lakes of Balinsasayao.

A heart shaped window captivating the island of Negros particularly Sibulan. I took this photo when I was at Santander in order to give a better picture on how the neighboring island would look like. Of all the photos that were uploaded from me I consider this as my unique shot. It was the only one where I used a camera via mobile phone and I got an unexpected result which surprised me.

This is the seaport of Sibulan, Negros Oriental where passengers from Cebu Province docked via a pump boat or a fast ferry from Lilo-an Santander, Cebu.

This is a barge another kind of vessel that carries cargos from Mainit, Oslob Cebu to Looc, Sibulan Negros Oriental. It is also available at Bato, Santander Cebu to Tampi, San Jose Negros Oriental. Thus, an advantage for those who bring their car for a travel.

Santander

One sunny day, as I come to visit this place with my family and relatives I took advantage to take a walk and no other thing popped up inside my mind. Guess what? It's the lovely beach there. As you could see on the photo where I clicked my shutter button what would be much of an appreciation were the calm and peaceful environment as it went along with the sea. It is perfect for boat sailing and kayaking. To add up, this place was located at the center of the town facing the island of fire-Siquijor. Truly a good area to feel light and to concentrate. Thus, a helpful one to avoid from any kind of disturbance.

Try to focus on the picture even if at its smallest detail. Did you notice something? Here is the clue. Are you the type to take adventure from one place to another by means of island hopping? You are almost there. Take a look back at the photo again somewhat looking a horizon. There you are. What it shows is the island of Sumilon just like a small curvature of a line. Are you interested now for this kind of activity? Don't miss it out.

This is the seaport of Lilo-an Santander, Cebu for fast ferry going to Sibulan Negros Oriental.

These are the pump boats in Lilo-an Santander, Cebu mainly for passengers too going to the same seaport in Sibulan, Negros Oriental. It is located just very near to the seaport of fast ferry on the above picture.

Here in Lilo-an Santander, Cebu a number of beaches are usually found. The location is of great advantage for people who will go to neighboring islands because of its seaports as shown on the above photos.

This is the water of the seaport in Lilo-an Santander, Cebu. It is very clear as you can see. Something to be proud of.

Sumilon Island

When I was on top of this small paradise my gaze meets its neighboring islands like Cebu Province, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Apo Island. It was a breath taking feeling knowing that my feet landed on a location which was at the center of the bodies of water surrounded by the above mentioned islands.
There, I enjoyed myself taking pictures as I focused my lens facing Cebu Province specifically Oslob, Cebu a place to get started in order to reach the beautiful island.

In addition, I added clicks on the rocky edges again where a tree is freely growing and almost lying down as it branched out into a direction towards the water. One step on the tree as if a good point for diving and you will fall into the deep blue sea. From there, a fine white sand could be felt directly on the bare feet. However, my attention was caught on the white coral reefs under the light of the sun located nearly the edges. The more it is attracted to look at with just the naked eyes because of its different details.

Moreover, I zoomed out the lens to have a better picture on the underwater. There you could see a combination of white sand and rock. Splashing into this crystal clear water is surely something for everyone to take into action and cherish.
